Engineering Design Principles

Key Experiences

In robot.100 students are free to design as it comes to their imagination. They compete in simple challenges like swimming laps, sumo wrestling, and tower knockdown. In robot.200 we emphasize the benefits of Engineering Design Principles, creating design sketchs and documenting ideas and test results to ultimately create an intentionally desiged bot, to dance to music, or search and dispose of a ficticious bomb in the streets of a mock city thus setting the stage for robot.300 that will take them deeper into the magic world of mechanical engineering and software.

Key Outcomes

Students open the world of Engineering Design Principles in mechanical and software engineering. Using MakeCode IDE.MicroBit and Spike Prime lego the students will be challenged to make their bots perform tasks like street sweeping, choreograph a dance troop, pick up and dispose garbage by using best practices engineering design principles.
Ask
How does software interact with the servos? What is a loop or a conditional statement?
Think
AI isn't magic, it's programming.
Imagine
Imagine whole warehouses of bots operating on their own to retrieve packages and put them on the right trucks and it all starts with coding.
